The Texas State law requires all children attending school to meet certain immunization requirements and to have those records on file at the school. Your child will not be able to start school unless they have met the immunization requirements.
For children claiming medical exemptions, a written statement by the physician must be submitted to the school. Unless it is written in the statement that a lifelong condition exists, the exemption statement is valid for only 1 year from the date signed by the physician.
Please check with your child’s physician’s office to see if they are up to date on their vaccinations prior to the school year starting. If your child receives any new vaccinations or is new to the school district, please provided an up to date record to the school.
