Substitute Teacher Orientation will be held on Tuesday, Aug 6, at 9 AM at the VISD Administration Building, located at 100 Student Drive Venus TX, 76084. Please bring two forms of proper ID as requested on the I-9 form. A drivers license and social security card would be best. Also, please bring proof of teaching certification, college transcripts, and you high school diploma if applicable. Be prepared to watch a presentaiton and fill out paperwork. Monday, July 29th- Friday, August 2nd: Summer Band will be from 2:00- 9:00 p.m. The students will have a dinner break from 5:00- 6:00 pm. Rehearsals for the week of August 5th- 9th will be from 6:00- 9:00 p.m. All rehearsals will be at Venus High School. Please remember that all band members must have their physical forms turned in prior to August 1st. Monday, July 29th: 10th, 11th, and 12th grade Chromebook pick-up at VHS cafeteria from 5:00- 8:00 pm. **Online registration must be completed and proof of residency must be provided prior to Chromebook pick-up. Proof of residency can be emailed to jessica.acevedo@venusisd.net. Monday, July 29th: High School Football, Volleyball and Cross Country Parent Meeting in the VHS gym at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30th: All athletes and students participating in extracurricular activities will be required to complete a baseline drug test on Tuesday, July 30th in the VHS cafeteria. FFA students, band members, and cross country athletes need to arrive at 1:00 p.m. Volleyball, cheer, and dance members need to arrive at 2:00 p.m. Student trainers and football players need to arrive at 3:00 p.m. **Online registration must be completed and proof of residency must be provided prior to the baseline drug test. Proof of residency can be emailed to jessica.acevedo@venusisd.net. Wednesday, July 31st: Football SENIOR equipment check-out at the Field House at 5:00 p.m. JUNIOR equipment checkout at the Field House at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1st: First day of volleyball practice. Athletes arrive at 6:30 a.m., practice is 7:00- 10:00 a.m., lunch break 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., and practice is at 12:00- 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1st: Football SOPHOMORE equipment checkout at the Field House at 5:00 p.m. FRESHMAN equipment checkout at the Field House at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3rd: 3rd Annual Back to School Bash in the Venus High School Gym from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, August 5th: First day of football practice. Athletes report at 5:30 p.m., practice is from 6:00- 8:30 p.m., and weights are from 8:30- 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 5th: 9th grade Orientation and Chromebook pick-up in the Venus High School gym from 6:30- 8:00 p.m. **Online registration must be completed and proof of residency must be provided prior to Chromebook pick-up. Proof of residency can be emailed to jessica.acevedo@venusisd.net. A recent utility bill is the preferred proof of residency. Please submit yours to your child's campus office. Instructions on how you can digitally turn it in can be found in the online registration packet in Skyward Family Access. Click the link below to log into Skyward Family Access. Bus drivers are needed for the 2019-2020 school year! We are looking for people with their CDL who are interested in being bus drivers for the upcoming school year. The pay rate is $32 per route. Get in touch with Kathy Windell, katherine.windell@venusisd.net or 972-366-3642,
Venus Middle School is excited to announce our first Camp Bulldog and invite all in-coming 6th graders to an evening of information and fun on Monday, July 29, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Parents and guardians should drop off students at the new gym between 5:45 pm and 6 pm and pick them up again at the new gym after camp ends at 8 pm. Camp Bulldog is completely free, and all students need to bring with them is a sense of adventure and their curiosity!
