Venus ISD Community: Our hearts and prayers go out to the community of Santa Fe ISD in response to the senseless act of aggression at their high school. I want to reassure the Venus community that the safety and security of our students and staff are ever-present on the minds of the Board of Trustees, as well as district and campus administration. Earlier this spring, the Board approved updates to the Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan for Venus ISD. District personnel are having ongoing consultations and forging partnerships with city, county and state agencies and other organizations for prevention of these incidents and formulating responses, should one occur. We conduct periodic drills to ensure that everyone knows their role during a crisis. Venus ISD also has specific protocols for entry to our schools, and we appreciate the understanding of our parents as we enforce these protocols for the safety of our children. The safety and security of our students remains our highest priority. In setting these policies and procedures, many perspectives are considered. Your perspective as a parent / community member is greatly valued and critical in these considerations. Venus ISD recently posted a very brief community survey in order to better address this and other issues. In order to get as many responses as possible, we are extending the deadline on the survey to noon Wednesday, May 30. Thank you,
James Hopper Superintendent, Venus ISD Comments are closed.
