Were you affected by the government shutdown?

1/30/2019

Parents,

The recent shutdown of the government has not had any negative impact on your child’s lunch account at this time. However, if your household income has been affected by the shutdown, please feel free to document this by going to our EZ Meal App web page and completing a free and reduced meal application. Thank you!

Flu Information

1/9/2019

 Dear Parent or Guardian:
Cold and flu season is upon us and we have already had several students out of school with colds, the flu and strep throat. To prevent widespread flu/strep throat in the school, we recommend that your child stay home from school if experiencing flu or cold symptoms. To decide whether or not to send your child to school, please consider the following guidelines.
Consider keeping your child home for an extra day of rest and observation if he or she has any of the following symptoms:
  • Very stuffy or runny nose and/or a cough • Mild sore throat (no fever, no known exposure to strep) •Headache •Mild stomach ache
Keep your child home for treatment and observation if he or she has any of these symptoms:
  • Fever (greater than 100 degrees). Your child may return to school only after his or her temperature has been consistently below 100 degrees, for a minimum of 24 hours without medication •Vomiting (even once) • Diarrhea • Chills •General malaise or feelings of fatigue, discomfort, weakness or muscle aches • frequent congested (wet) or croupy cough • Lots of nasal congestion with frequent blowing of nose
To help prevent the flu and other colds, teach your children good hygiene habits:
  • Wash hands frequently • Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth • Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing with a tissue, throw it away and then wash hands            • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Please do not send your child to school with medication in their pockets or backpacks (this includes cough drops). If your child needs to have medication administered to them at any point during the school day, you must bring the medication to the school and fill out an Administration Form for the nurse.

Thank you for helping to make this school year as healthy as possible.

Estimados padres,
