Congratulations to the new members of the Venus Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society! Mariam Abdelkhaleq, Brenden Ward, Tiffany Andries, Courtney Ward, Wilson Hardin, Briann Warner, John Hoffman, Kaylee Watson, Ryleigh Klein, K’Sandra Martinez, Amanda Stewart These outstanding students have consistently demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship, and have chosen to serve their campus and community by becoming NJHS members. Best of luck to our new NJHS Bulldogs as they embark on a new path of personal growth and service!

The VHS One Act Play team performed at the district competition and, though they did not advance this year, did an outstanding job. Congratulations to Hannah Fiscus, Victoria Read, and Morgan Hershberger on earning the individual honors listed below:
![]() Venus Independent School District is excited to announce that Mr. Steven Nazworth has been selected as the Venus Primary School Principal. He is in his 5th year at Venus and 15th in education. Mr. Nazworth has done an exceptional job as the VES Assistant Principal, and we are excited about the impact he will make at VPS. He will transition into his new role with the start of the 2016-2017 school year. A few words from Mr. Nazworth: I am very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the VPS team! I believe that working together and striving for excellence will help us to reach our goals for our students. I look forward to meeting all of the teachers, staff members, students, and parents in the coming weeks! 1. Graduation Practice – June 3rd @ 9:00 (Friday) 2. VHS Graduation Time - 9:00 am @ VHS Football Stadium (Be there by 7:30) 3. Graduation - Bad Weather Plans (six tickets per Graduate)(788 max) 4. Senior Week – May 31st, June 1st, June 2nd 5. No Senior Week if you - Owe Money, Owe Supplies, Excess Absences, or Discipline 6. Photographers – Lifetouch -- Can order after graduation -- List of Seniors and their e-mails will be provided to Lifetouch. 7. Parking – No parking by field house 8. Parents taking pictures 9. Set-up & Seating (No Reserving Seats)(1st Come – 1st Seated) 10. Student Dress Code (Under Cap/Gown) – Fingertip length shorts and t-shirt 11. Cap/Gown Dress Code – Nothing on the cap or gown 12. Pick up Diploma the following week @ VHS 13. Please talk with your student about being responsible after Graduation 14. Candlelight Ceremony (May 12th @ 7:00 pm) 15. ![]() Our Venus High School Lady Bulldog Powerlifters made a great showing at the Regional Powerlifting Meet. Fey Esparza set regional records in squat, bench, deadlift, and total score on her way to placing 1st in her class. Lizzet Ortega placed 2nd, Makayla Buck 4th, and Skyler Andrade 12th in their respective weight classes. Both Fey and Lizzet will be advancing to the state powerlifting meet, which will be held in Corpus Christi, TX on Sat. March 19th. Great job Lady Bulldogs! We are excited that your hard work has paid off and know that you will make us proud at the state meet. The Gifted and Talented Specialists will hold an informational parent meeting about spring testing for the Gifted and Talented program on Monday, March 7, 6:00 pm in the Venus High School Cafeteria.
Nomination packets for 1st and 3rd -11th grade students will be available at the meeting or upon request from the campus counselor. All VISD 2nd grade students will participate in a G/T Screening process, so nomination forms are not needed. All nomination forms are due Friday, March 11. Late forms will not be accepted. We know that the hard work and dedication you exhibited at VHS will serve you well in your education and athletic endeavors. Great job, Bulldog!
