Venus High School students Ayo Aridegbe, Demetrius Uplegger, and Rodrigo Alvarado made an amazing showing at the regional track meet, with Ayo advancing to the state meet in the 100 Meter Dash. Our Bulldogs demonstrated courage and pride, and we are proud of their hard work!
110 Hurdles - Rodrigo Alvarado -5th (15.49) 100 Meter Dash - Ayo Aridegbe - 1st (10.70) (Regional Champion) STATE BOUND 300 Meter Hurdles - Demetrius Uplegger - 3rd (39.65) The Venus Softball Playoff Game will be Thursday, April 26, at Timberview HS in Mansfield. Gates open at 6 with a 7 start time. The ticket prices are Adults $5 and Student $3. Pass accepted at the gate will be 8-4A District and Senior Citizen passes.

The Venus High School Course Description Catalog for the 2018-2019 school year is available below. Upcoming Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior students and parents can use it to make informed decisions on course requests. On Monday, April 16, 2018, the Venus ISD Board of Trustees approved a full day Pre-Kindergarten program to begin with the 2018-2019 school year. Currently, Venus ISD operates the Pre-Kindergarten program on the state funded half-day basis. The full day program will offer a rigorous curriculum taught by certified teachers. Instruction will be all day and will be free of charge for students who qualify under the state mandated criteria.
Students can qualify under six different criteria including; Limited English Proficiency, Homeless, if the parent/guardian is a member of the Armed Forces, if a child is under the conservatorship for the Texas Dept. of Family and Protective Services, is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award or through income eligibility. Students must be 4 years old on, or before September 1, 2018. The Venus ISD School Board also approved a tuition-based Pre-K that is available for children who live within Venus ISD boundaries and will be 4 years old by Sept. 1 but do not meet the eligibility requirements to enroll in state-funded pre-K. We are proud to announce the first annual VISD Job Fair, which will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9 AM to Noon in the Venus High School Cafeteria. We will be hosting multiple small to mid-sized school districts.
