2nd Team - Academic All-State Football Andrew Handlin Tyler Henrich Luke Schaefer Honorable Mention - Academic All-State Football JuanGabriel Garcia Venus ISD recognizes that the most effective learning environment for students is in a face-to-face classroom setting. Because of this, many online students have fallen behind, and some are experiencing attendance issues. This is not restricted to Venus ISD, as schools across the state and nation are experiencing the same. Therefore, beginning Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Venus ISD will discontinue online learning for all students except for those who wish to remain online, and demonstrate one of the following:
How to qualify for one of these exceptions: Documented Medical Concerns: If your child has a medical condition that places them in undue risk, please acquire a doctor’s signature on this form and return the document to your campus office by 4:00 p.m. December 11, 2020. Quarantine: If your child needs to be quarantined due to a positive test, or close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, you will be contacted. Demonstrated Academic Success and Good Attendance: If, by most recently completed six weeks, your child has demonstrated academic success by passing all core classes and has no more than 2 unexcused absences for this time period, you have the option to return to on-campus learning or remain online. Appeals: Appeals can be made on this form, and will be evaluated by the committee; determination will be handled individually. If an appeal is received for a student with a disability with an IEP or 504 plan, the ARD or 504 committee will convene to review student needs. Appeals must be sent to the campus principal by December 11, 2020. Other Considerations All students currently enrolled in on-campus learning will remain on-campus learners. All students new to VISD will enroll as on-campus learners unless there are documented medical concerns regardless of placements in previous districts. |
