The fax number for the Venus ISD Administration office, located at 100 Student Drive Venus TX, has changed to 972-232-2141 effective immediately. The old number is no longer in operation.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Venus ISD’s first Featured Employee, Michele Smith. Mrs. Smith started working for VISD in 2001 as a dishwasher in the cafeteria and has moved into management as the Venus High School Cafeteria Manager. She is an outstanding employee who consistently serves others and views the students as “her babies”. She is constantly seeking to find ways to better serve our students and staff with a smile on her face.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Mrs. Smith enjoys crafts and canoeing. She likes to attend painting classes with friends and has a love for scrapbooking. She is currently working on a baseball scrapbook for two former students. Mrs. Smith completed a three day canoeing trip in Oklahoma this summer. During her vacation she canoed and camped with friends.
Who inspires you at your job?
Mrs. Smith is inspired by the students she serves. She likes to find new meals to prepare for the kids. She reads a lot to research a variety of creative meal options. Her favorite meal to prepare for VHS is country fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, and rolls.
Which co-worker needs to be bragged on and why?
Mrs. Smith believes all of the food service workers and Tina McCormick need to be commended. She feels her entire department works hard every day to make sure the students of VISD receive healthy, good meals. She appreciates the leadership Ms. McCormick provides for the department and her ability to always keep students as the focus.
What experiences at VISD have impacted you?
Mrs. Smith feels one of her most significant experiences at VISD has been working with Mr. Buck, VHS Principal. She believes Mr. Buck is great to work with and appreciates his ability to inspire others no matter what obstacles he may face. Mrs. Smith is proud to work at VISD!
