AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a nationwide program whose mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.
Venus ISD offers AVID as an elective to students beginning in 6th grade. Students enrolled in AVID engage in daily coursework, college visits, and cultural experiences that develop the knowledge and skills they need to be ready for college and future success.
