Our Mission: The mission of the Venus ISD Police Department is to provide our Future Citizens with a Safe Learning Environment.
Who we are: The Venus ISD Police Department is a team of dedicated professionals committed to more than just safety, we are here to inspire. By blending service- oriented enforcement with a passion for mentorship, our officers work tirelessly to maintain a peaceful, secure environment where every student and staff member can thrive.
Our pledge is simple: To protect our school community with "dedication above self." and to ensure that the safety of our children remains our absolute priority. We don’t just patrol hallways; we empower the next generation of productive citizens.
Our History and Growth: Established in December 2019, the Venus ISD Police The department is a fully recognized State Law Enforcement Agency. The department was founded by the Venus ISD Board of Trustees to provide dedicated, localized protection for our students and staff.
Under the leadership of the district’s first Police Chief, Robert Wood, who initially joined the district as Safety and Security Director—the agency successfully met the rigorous mandates and licensing requirements of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE).
Current Operations: As of 2026, the department has grown to a team of four state- certified Police Officers. To ensure maximum safety and visibility, a certified officer is stationed at each of the four Venus ISD educational campuses. Our officers exceed state standards by completing advanced professional training annually, maintaining the highest level of readiness and expertise.

As the Chief of Police for Venus ISD, I want to personally welcome you to our district. As parents, your greatest priority is the safety and well-being of your children—and at the Venus ISD Police Department, that is our priority, too. We believe that for a student to achieve their full potential, they must first feel safe. Our officers aren't just here to provide security; we are here to be a positive presence in your child’s life.
Whether we are greeting students in the morning, visiting classrooms, or securing our campuses, our goal is to foster an environment built on trust, respect, and peace of mind. Safety is a shared responsibility. We value the partnership we have with our families and encourage you to reach out to our officers with any questions or concerns.
